How to create a bio
You can choose from any type you want, but http://sites.google.com/, www.stlwed.com and www.weebly.com (like this one!) seem to be the most popular on The Knot. Each site will differ on how you actually make the updates, but be sure to include sections on you and your fiance, your engagement, rings, dress, invitations, reception and ceremony venues, flowers, bridal party, and more! We love to see pictures, whether actual pictures of your wedding items or inspiration pictures.
How to post a link to your bio in your signature
Once you create a bio, you'll want to post its web link into your knot account's signature. To do this, click on "Update Signature" on the blue left-hand sidebar under "Community Links" from the board's homepage. On the new page that will open up, click on "Edit My Avatar & Sig" in the top left-hand corner. Edit your signature in the "My Forums Signature" box on the bottom left of the new page.
Change your bio's URL to a tinyurl at http://tinyurl.com (this site will change the address for you) so you don't go over your signature character limit. Then put this code in your bio edit page in this format: <a target="_blank" title="yourtinyurlhere" href="yourtinyurlhere">My Bio</a>.You'll then post your link here. You can change "My Bio" to however you want the link to appear in your signature- maybe your wedding date, or a fun phrase. Make sure to save your changes after you enter them in!
How to edit your avatar
Your avatar is the little picture that shows up above your Knottie name when you post on the board. To edit it or add a new one, click on "Change Avatar" on the blue left-hand sidebar on the board's homepage under "Community Links." From the new page that will open up, click on "Edit My Avatar & Sig" in the top left-hand corner. Another page will open up, and the avatar editing section is near the top. You can upload a new photo, choose from your collection of photos already uploaded, choose from a Knot design, or use the Knot's "My Inner Bride" if you have created one.
Helpful hint: if you choose to upload a new photo, it will work best if the photo is already resized to a low resolution and cropped into a perfect square.
How to post a picture in your signature
Start by uploading the picture to a photo hosting site (photobucket, snapfish, shutterfy, etc). Then you'll need to take the direct URL for the picture [note: if using photobucket, copy the "direct link"; if using snapfish and shutterfly, right-click on the picture, select properties, and copy that URL]. Next change the URL to a tinyurl at http://tinyurl.com (this site will change the address for you) so you don't go over your character limit. Then put this code in your signature in this format: <img src="yourtinyurlhere" width="200">. You can change the width number to suit your needs or remove this if you want it to be full sized (such as if you size it in your photo hosting site). The height will automatically adjust proportionally when you change the width.
You don't have to make a new post in order to see your new signature. Just refresh one of your old posts and it will show up.
Helpful Tip: To get to where to put stuff into your signature, click on "Update Signature" on the blue left-hand sidebar under "Community Links" from the board's homepage. How to insert a wedding countdown ticker into your signature
Create your Knot wedding countdown ticker here: http://global.theknot.com/tickers/Default.aspx
You can also find this by clicking "Wedding Tickers" on the blue left-hand sidebar from the board's homepage under "Community Links."
Once you choose the style of your ticker and enter in your wedding date, some html code will be generated. Copy and paste that directly into your signature. (Instructions for locating the signature editing page are located above.)
How to insert an invitation tracking ticker into your signature
Insert the following into your signature (instructions for locating the signature editing page are located above):

How to space out your signature so it is centered
Have you followed all the instructions above and ended up with a signature that is off-centered or with weird spacing? Most issues can be solved by inserting html line breaks in between the different items in your signature. <br> is html code for a line break. Using this in your signature will allow for effective and correct spacing, like this:

Wedding countdown ticker
Of course, these phrases would need to be replaced by the relevant html code, explained section by section above.
